Since 2009, ARCH has given neglected, abandoned and mistreated horses, ponies and donkeys a safe place to recover in Alhaurín el Grande, and a second chance at the life they deserve.

Run on kindness, one hoof at a time

ARCH is a registered charity run by volunteers. Every rescue, every vet visit, every bale of hay is paid for by supporters, donations and fundraising events.

The charity has no powers to confiscate animals itself, so it works closely with SEPRONA, the Guardia Civil’s environmental protection unit, and with local police. When an animal is seized or abandoned, ARCH takes it in, nurses it back to health and, where needed, supports legal action against those responsible.

Horses, ponies and donkeys found in distress are rescued with the help of SEPRONA and local police, often in poor condition and frightened of people.

Once fully recovered, the main aim is a forever home. Each animal is matched with an adopter who suits their needs and character.
